Best Kebab Food Truck
Town Hall Kebabs, Sydney Rd And Glenlyon Rd, Brunswick.
When Anthony Bourdain came to Melbourne back in 2009, he headed straight to this place. Don't let its exterior deceive you, they make a very tasty kebab and have been the go to place for Retreat Hotel revellers for years. "One mixed meat, please."

Best FOOD happy hour of 2012
I'm crazy about Horn Please. It's simply the best Indian food I have eaten in Australia, and their selection of craft beers just adds to the pleasure. Sunday nights is our pick for their $20 all you can eat buffet. This is no bogan buffet, but rather staff stand behind steel warmers, explain the dish and spoon it onto your plate. HONK HONK!

Best new venue of 2012
Took over the old Comfortable Chair last year and has built up a steady reputation for offering hard-to-find craft beer on over a dozen taps. Great beergarden and a better than usual menu, make this our best new venue of 2012.
Most Inappropriate Place to Take a Date
As one of the last surviving "skimpy"pubs in Melbourne, I'm thinking that the topless barstaff might distract from getting to know that special someone.

Best Parma of 2012
Parma ratings are a subjective thing, especially when the venue doesn't even have a happy hour, to put them on our site! But alas, the ROO PARMA at the Napier is a thing of beauty. Thick juicy chicken with strips of smoked kangaroo. The portions are of couse huge, as you'd expect.

2nd Best Happy Hour of 2012
This award goes to their Thursday night special ($1 tacos and $6 pints) but take a look at their other specials as well. Quality savings through the whole week!
3rd Best Happy Hour of 2012
Each Wednesday the place offers $6 pints of some of the most interesting craft beer available in the city. Some of those big beers (8-10%) mean you are certainly getting your moneys worth!
BEST PLACE TO BREAK UP
“I think we need some space,” she says
“What do you mean?” he says
“Well I’m travelling the world and changing.”
“What! You’re going to Central Europe for 9 days!”
“Yes but I’m taking a contiki tour.”
“Oh…right,” he says, lower lip quivering.
“Can you pay for this pint, I’ve only got euros.”

BEST ROOFTOP BEERGARDEN
THE FOX HOTEL, COLLINGWOOD
The Fox is one of those places that seems to be doing everything right. An incredible beer list, live tunes, very hearty pub fare (try the 2 course Sunday special) and what we believe is the best rooftop deck in town, looking over the roofs of residential Collingwood towards a setting sun.
BEST SUNDAY ROAST:
You gotta love a roast that comes with mash potatoes AND roast potatoes. Irish husband and wife team Michael and Kim opened up last year, and they’ve really made a nice little nook, ideal for trad sessions and a feed. Portions are huge with balloons of broccoli and cauliflower to boot. The traditional soda bread is a also nice touch. Naturally all this must be soaked down with a pint of Guinness.
