Known mostly for its hugely popular St Patties day, the Dan embraces its Irish history with comfy pub surround and more importantly ... very tasty food beer specials. Their Thursday $1 taco night (vego) has become an institution for students nearby, as has their open mic poetry readings (not as bad as it sounds). Being located on the busy Princes St, it's also a nice feeling to have a few pints around 5.30pm and watch the zone 2ers head home at a snail's pace, as they watch you in turn, undoubtedly thinking about where it all went wrong.
